Serra Catholic’s 76-61 victory over Wilkinsburg in the WPIAL Class A boys basketball championship means Bentworth enters the PIAA playoffs as the fourth-place team from District 7.
It also means the Bearcats (17-8) will play Southern Fulton (20-7), the District 5 champions, in the first round Friday, Feb. 29 with a site and time to be determined.
According to the Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown, the game will be played at Chestnut Ridge or Bedford.
Southern Fulton defeated Shade in the D5 title game, 42-29. Shade came in averaging 70 points per game but had 13 at halftime.
