A few too many days have passed since the Varsity Letters issued a much-anticipated All Points Bulletin for a former local scholastic standout. So without further ado, we're looking for former Chartiers-Houston girls basketball legend Emily Briggs.
Briggs earned multiple first-team all-district honors, was an Observer-Reporter Girls Basketball Player of the Year, finished her career as the Bucs' leading scorer and rebounder and was an all-state selection.
She earned a scholarship to play at Division I Wofford but was out of there a couple years later. I bumped into Briggs, very briefly, at Ernie's Freestyle on Main Street in Washington on the night West Virginia beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
