Hey anon FC FAN, who was right,ME!!!! FC is not in the same league as NC or Vincentian, not even close. I hope you enjoyed your 1 ranking while it lasted because it won't be back any time soon.

As someone who covered the FC-NC game, I can say FC is in the same league as NC and Vincentian.

I not only think so, but NC's head coach said as much after the game.

Not sure what game you were watching anon.

All three teams are quality and should represent the WPIAL well in the state playoffs.

You were right????? I think you said MERCY RULE. Last time I checked that is 40 points. F.C. was at halftime. Try watching the game before you make any more DUMB comments.

Considering FC can only use girls that live in its school district, I would say that they dont belong in the same league as NC, Serra Central Catholic, Canevin and many others. When is the WPIAL going to wake up and play all private schools in the same division? It makes it difficult to compete when schools like NC, Canevin, Serra and others can recruit the best girls to play there, thus pulling them away from the school district where they live and then play against schools that dont have the same ability to recruit.

WOW, you really think those schools recruit? Recruiting is illegal in the WPIAL, if you're caught its basically the death sentence for your program. Face facts, Fort Cherry just cannot compete with the real players in single A, its great that you can beat the other bad A programs, enjoy that because the playoffs will not be fun for your girls.

Death sentence for recruiting, eh?

Brief statement of fact - Fort Cherry reached the WPIAL Class A championship game last in 2011.

So we can get this clear. Who are good Single A teams? Just NC and Vincentian?

to say that schools like NC, vincentian, Canevin DONT recruit is a JOKE. You sir, either live under a rock or are really out of touch. Death sentence if caught? More like a slap on the wrist. I so hope FC or another public school team beats a private Catholic school in WPIAL championship. But then again, all it'll do is cause the parochial schools to ramp up their recruiting.

Digging into FC girls basketball. In 2010-2011 they played McGuffey, Ringgold, Wash High, Ambridge, and Jeanette. All of these games were convincing wins. Jeanette was in the AA WPIAL championship in 10-11 and FC beat them by 22 that year. In that same year the AAA runner-up Mt. Pleasant played FC and Mt. Pleasant only won by 6. In 2010-2011 Fc played with one senior who got rare minutes.

In 2011-2012 Fc scheduled McGuffey, Ringgold, Mt. Pleasant, Beaver Falls, and Canon Mac all were wins. Mt. Pleasant is a number 5 team in AAA, FC beat them by 22. In single A they played 10 Carmichaels and beat them twice by 30, 6 Quigley who was beat by 30,5 CH who was beat by 20, 4 Monessen who was beat by 12, and 2 North Catholic who beat FC by 6. In that game FC played without a starter, no excuse though it was a great game.

The reason for this is just to prove to people that just because you are put into single A does not mean that you cannot compete with other WPIAL schools. Some single A schools are just so good they can do that. Clairton football can put up a fight against majority of WPIAL teams. I am convinced that Monessen FC NC and Vincentian all can compete with any team in the WPIAL on any day. So before we trash talk FC girls let's do some research.

Don't forget Seton-LaSalle. They just might be the worst.

My son was recruited to play a sport at a Catholic School. When I told the coach that I didnt want to pay the tuition costs, he said "Well there are ways around that" So dont tell me and everyone else that it doesnt take place. The WPIAL needs to do something about the recruiting.

"The WPIAL needs to do something about the recruiting."
I will assume, based on your statement, that YOU submitted all of the relevant information to the WPIAL Offices regarding the recruitment of your son--days, dates, statements, etc.

The WPIAL SHOULD do something about recruiting, but they can't until people like you provide the tools to make the charges stick.

I love all of the bogus, "My son was recruited or I heard a story that this coach called this kid......" recruiting stories. You people are completely clueless. As the last post stated, if that happened then you should've called the WPIAL immediately to report it. There is SO much recruiting going on in the public schools its crazy. Gateway, Woody HI, Alliquipa.... all of these schools recruit on a regular basis. Remember, there is very little recruiting in Wash County because there are basically no athletes down there, Wash County football is HORRIBLE.
