Predicting WPIAL playoff seeds

Is Pittsburgh Central Catholic the top team in Class AAAA? Probably.

Does that mean the WPIAL will seed PCC ahead of defending state champion North Allegheny, which happens to be 9-0? The guess here is no.

What conferences are weak? In Class A, Beth-Center is better than the seventh-best team but winning the Tri-County South means little to the committee, which will look instead at the Bulldogs' one-point overtime home loss to Avonworth. In Class AA, the Allegheny Conference doesn't look strong and the MAC is down outside Aliquippa, but that doesn't guarantee a trending team like Washington gets seeded ahead of Freeport or even Beaver Falls.

Having seen Brentwood and Beth-Center, I would say B-C is better. That said, my bracket works out with Brentwood as the six, and B-C as the 7.

The wpial committee certainly made mistakes in the double aa bracket. Anyone, to include all msa sports broadcasters and regional sportwriters believe the allegheny conf by far is the weakest. That all 3 other conf 1st and 2nd place finishers are hands down better but freeport received a higher seed than gcc and shadyside got a higher seeed than wash high. The whole century conf as a whole did not get seeded well to include seton lasalle who many believe is the best. Iknew wh would play mt pleasant but as a 6/11 game. The experts even said during the broadcast that shadyside academy is one dimensional with one player. However you still have to win four games to get where you want to go. anyways good luck to all the local teams on friday and especially my boys at the high.

wow these seedings always leave you scratching your head, but it is what it is. the kids at wash high dont care bring it on.there is no more intimidation factor, wash high will be doing the intimidating.

Who, EXACTLY, is intimidated by Wash HI? Prexie, you sure are full of yourself and your team. They are a talented and fast bunch, but zero discipline will get you killed in the playoffs. Wash Hi has ZERO discipline. Get out your hoops gear, these boys will be playing real soon.
