Guess who's back?

="0" alt="" />
Trinity High School varsity football coach and athletic director Ed Dalton is back, and so are the rest of the Hillers' fall sports coaches.

Trinity School Board unanimously rescinded its decisions to open all fall sports coaching positions and not renew the contract of the athletic director at Thursday's meeting.

The decision to open all fall coaching positions and not renew Dalton's contract as athletic director at December's meeting went against school policy.

Approximately 200 people attended Thursday's meeting in support of Dalton, who is 54-56 in 11 years as Trinity's football coach with five consecutive WPIAL playoff appearances. They erupted in applause upon learning of the decision.

Now we have to wait in wonder if they will do it again when school policy allows it.

Now we will wait and see what they do when school policy allows them to vote.

Great job by the community, voicing their opinions and realizing that they can make a difference!

One sad note. I was at the board meeting and was absolutely embarrassed by the actions of Tom Bodnovich, the board president. This man is the most unprofessional adult I have ever seen. Mr. Bodnovich never payed attention to a single word being said by the different speakers. He was constantly talking to Mr. Dick and didn't pay attention to one word being said. His rumblings were picked up by the mic during every speach. That, Mr. Bodnovich, is absolutely unprofessional. Rolling your eyes and mumbling during every speaker is an absolute embarrassment to the district and to the board. You constantly interupted the speakers the same way you did when I had a phone conversation with you a few weeks ago. This has also been voiced by the majority of the public that have tried to have an educated conversation with you. UNPROFESSIONAL!

I, for one, can't wait until you are removed from the board. You are an absolute EMBARRASSMENT!

Now if he will just junk that spread offense and get back to "Hiller Football"-----------!

I attended the meeting and it was great to see all the people within the community come together. There were some great speakers their including current player Ben Brownlee and Chris Piatt. Former player Andrew Miller from Ohio State along with several parents. Mr. Dalton was the first one to speak and the place simpling exploded when he was finished. He had support from football players, baseball players, soccer players, basketball players, softball players, and thats just what I could tell from what students were wearing.

It was a great thing to watch, it was great to see that the School Board admitted to being wrong and vote unanimously on bring back our AD, Fall Coachs, and Food Director.

None of this means the board won't fire certain individuals at a later date or not renew contracts when they are up.

Mr. Bodnovich & Mr. Day....
"Whadda ya want!.."Whadda ya want!"

All across the land the Hiller faithful have spoken and cast off the"new" schoolboard's illegal, unwise, uninformed and potentially costly decisions.
King Edward I has been reinstated as the AD and Football coach. He will once again perch himself upon the Hillers gridiron throne from whence he pulled it from the bottom of number 4 dam where it rested for decades. From where the Wicked Witch and the "new" schoolboard recently tossed it again.
Lo and behold that all the Blue and White munchkins of the land arose to fend off the flying monkeys. And once again, all things were calm in the Emerald City.
"Why have you come to see THSfan?"

I am also glad of the olive branch offered by the board. It is my hope that they will not make snap judgements in the future and if they see one another doing something out of line or for self fullfilling reasons they will all call each other out. Remove the hidden agenda's. Work for the good of all of our children. Let those of us who are unfamiliar with the protocol and bylaws of a school board, do your homework and continue to attend the school board meetings. Be involved. We are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Our kids deserve this and we as parents and concerned taxpayers should be aware.

Spread ofense? I was at the final reg season game vs Ringgold and trinity played power football and jammed it down Ringgold's throat...rushed for close to 300 yards...

What happens when Dalton decides to apply for jobs in other districts, as he has reportedly done a number of times over the years?
He wants to leave Trinity, just on his own terms and the "faithful" have helped him do that.
Congratulations. When he leaves in a year or two for greener pastures, you'll be right back where you should have been at the end of this year.

Dalton has every right to look for greener pastures and yes, one day he will leave, and when he does, I will shake his hand and tell him Thank You for what you have done for this community.

Congrats to the Hiller faitful! And to the haters out there, do your research and lend an open ear to those who know best, like Bill Cherpek who took time out of his busy schedule to stand up for Coach Dalton. Bill Cherpek is a class act, no wonder TJ is the program it is.

Sarcastic Sword-----that just proves my point! The spread was a disaster. Ruined their season.

Anon at 12:16, I agree with you 100%. TJ's coach got a standing ovation from Trinity's players, coaches, athletes, students, and parents. He had some great stuff to say about Coach Dalton. It just proves that Dalton's actions as an AD and football coach are noticable by many.

hopefully Dalton will make sure that Kenny Bonnell has abosolutely NOTHING to do with our Youth Sports teams.

The Youth Programs are aware that Mr. Bodnovich is trying to get Ken Bonnell to step in as head of the Youth Program. The majority of the Youth programs have already decided that they will withdrawl from our league if this man is in charge.

I for one would love to hear the "TRUTH" from Mr. Bonnell.

And if Mr. Bonnell claims he isn't involved with the Trinity Board, then why was he running his mouth at Eat n Park this past weekend telling several parents: "Dalton will not be coaching next year. WE will make sure of that!"

And if you are not involved, why are you with Mr. Bodnovich on a daily basis, at the food court, Eat n Park, Kings and several other places around town??!! Very Interesting Kenny!

I can guarantee you that our Chartiers Youth Football teams will be leaving if Bonnell is in charge!

Wash Hi is also going to be gone if Bonnell has anything to do with the youth programs!

If you get rid of Bodnovich, which in turn would get rid of Bonnell, then you would have a pretty decent board. I think the rest of the board, at least from my talks with them, seem to have the right idea. They may have gone about things a little too fast, but they definately have the community and the education of our children in mind.

I think they have finally wised up to the dealings of Tom Bodnovich and are realizing that this man isn't what he claims to be. Hopefully someone comes forward with some info soon!! I for one would like to see him removed.
