My it's hard to believe that Mt. Pleasant is sitting atop AA. They are an extremely physical football team to say the least. It's also hard to believe that Wash High in week 2 was in the redzone 4 times in that contest and couldn't put the ball in the end zone. Wash High could be a team to reckon with in AA.

once again. serra in top five is ridiculous.

In class A the top 3 are a lock at this point. #4 is probably not North Catholic or Serra. North lost to Serra in week one but has a big win vs Springdale. I'd actually say that Avonworth should be in the top 5, maybe even #4. We will find out next week when North travels to Avonworth. Monaca could also creep into the top 5 because Serra seems to be fading at the end of the year with tight wins at Bentworth and CH

Aother than the top 3 we'll have different teams filling out the top 5. After the top 3 in 1A theres plenty of parity that seem to be 30 points worse than the top 3. I think Avonworth is definately a decent #4 option and they could get it this upcoming week in the TVL's Rankings.

I agree that the top 3 teams in A are a lock. After that, its wide open. If seeded 4th or 5th in the playoffs, I think Monessen may surprise people and sneak into the semifinals. They have just as much talent as anybody in A outside of the top 2 and maybe Laurel.

it doesnt really matter who is #4, there is such a drop off after #3 that they're all the same. i like the way the brackets seemingly appear to be shaping up though in Class A. with the 1-4 seeds going to the 4 conference winners and presumably the #5 seed going to the first #2 team (Laurel) that would put Rochy and Laurel on the same side of the bracket with clairton on the other. if thats the case clairton will walk to heinz because there isnt another team in Class A that can even give them a game.

There will be, and has never been, a "walk" to the finals. If you think that is the case, you don't know much about play-off football. Granted, Clairton will be better than anyone in their bracket, but they have to be on top of their game to get to the finals. I remember a few years ago they were talking about how they had their best team ever and California almost beat them in the quarterfinals. Never get ahead of yourself, play-off football is a different animal than the regular season.

I can't see Monessen getting a #4 seed in the playoffs. #5 is where they're most likely going to end up. I see Rochy as the solid #1 if they don't get upset these last 2 weeks. Remember they are going to have one emotional week 9 game against Monaca. #2 will either go to Clairton or Laurel. That leaves #4 to the Eastern Conference winner who will most likely be Avonworth at this point. #5 to Monessen #6 to Blackhills or Eastern #2, #7 to Backhills or Eastern #2, and #8 to Beth Center. After that i'm not too sure how it could shape out.

It won't matter if Monessen gets the #5 seed because it is pretty much the same as a #4. They better get one or the other if they win out because all they did was play the top 2 teams on the road out of conference. Ya, those were 2 shutout losses but look what Rochy has done to everybody else and Monessen was missing 3 key players(not that they would have won, just stating a fact). Also, if you attended the Clairton game you saw that Monessen had a 1st and 10 on the Bears 25 late in the 3rd quarter down 14-0. That 46-0 score was a little misleading. Bears are 3 TD's better though. Point is, if Monessen is a #4 or #5 seed, I like their chances of making the semis
