Local basketball rankings

Thanks to its recent surge, Trinity cracks the local boys rankings for the first time this year. Critics point to the Hillers' section but they have turned their season around with a large group of underclassmen.

Boys
1. Peters Township (AAAA) 12-1
2. Washington (AA) 13-2
3. South Fayette (AA) 11-3
4. Monessen (AA) 7-6
5. Trinity (AAA) 7-8

Girls
1. Peters Township (AAAA) 8-6
2. South Fayette (AA) 10-3
3. Monessen (A) 12-3
4. Washington (AA) 10-4
5. Fort Cherry (A) 11-3

How is Trinity ahead of Canon-Mac in the local rankings when CM defeated Trinity by 32 points this season?? -similar records also

If Canon Mac is placed in the top five for any positive basketball ranking, i will stop reading the varsity letters. They are that bad right now.

I am sure everyone would be very disappointed if you quit reading the varsity letters.

Where is Josh Arnold???? That dude was a beast at Monessen.

I though he was one of the best to come out of the area in a long time. Leading scorer in the WPIAL.

Mike,

After comparing Monessens schedule to that of Washington you would have to say that Monessens schedule is much harder. I am talking about the non conference games.

Arnold is at a prep school. I forget where, though. I am thinking Baltimore/DC.

I didn't say that Canon-Mac deserved a top 5 ranking. They absolutely destroyed Trinity this year. I was asking how Trinity was "ahead" of them??? It doesn't make any sense at all. CM beat Monessen also. Just looking for an explanation thats all.

I've explained the local rankings on several occasions.

It is not based on who beat who during the first week of December. It's about which teams are playing well, winning games and jockeying for postseason position.

Canon Mac is bad. I have watched them twice. Maybe Trinity got better and found their game.

Josh arnold is playing at Indian River. It one of the top junior colleges in the country. It is located in florida. He is having a great freshman year and has helped lead his team to almost a 20win season with 3games remaining before the playoff's begin.
