Each week, we'll break down the Friday night game I'm attending. Tonight, I'm off to Canonsburg for the annual Trinity vs. Canon-McMillan contest.
Here's what I'm looking for:
We all know the immense talents of Mike Hull. The Varsity Letters is greatly looking forward to seeing Chad Hagan's return to the football team. If Hagan is as into playing football as he is basketball, he'll be one of the WPIAL's top five recruits next year - easy.
Trinity's defensive line has the chance to be a special group. Jack Jamerson is a very good player and Ken Wilkens has loads of potential. In the game, the Hillers' front four must find ways to stop C-M's run game and keep the pressure off a new group of starting linebackers. Trinity will not win if they don't make plays up front.
Canon-McMillan has displayed a propensity to give up the big play in recent years. That has to change of the Big Macs are to live up to preseason expectations.
Also, the Varsity Letters wants to see an aggressive C-M offensive line. There are a couple quality players up front for C-M. They can't afford to let Trinity to be the more physical team. The Big Macs have to be tougher along the offensive line than they were a year ago in order to contend for the conference championship.

Why is Alex F.T. Pihakis not getting any love in the preseason writeups? He's impossible to block, weighs almost 300lbs, and is a great athlete. Can someone please explain to me how we are omitting him from mention?
Maybe you should read our preseason football preview. Pihakis is one of the first players mention (Page 4) in the entire publication.
Alex Pihakis weighs 240 pounds. This was in the CanonMcMillan program tonight. This is a far cry from "almost 300 lbs" - What's the next Alex F.T. Pihakis crybaby stat going to be? That he is 6'11' tall!! Give us a break. We are a TEAM.
Pihakis did have 11 pancake blocks tonight anonymous. I agree that CM is a team, but we do have to give credit where it is due.
i just know alex frey should be embarrassed after that performance! LOL
Hey you know mike hull?
Has any one been paying attention number 56 on Peters Township im a ringold fan and he just tor us apart he deserves some serious recognition, but hey we squeezed out the victory because they made too many mistakes and Jake Spazziani made the big play for us. But 56 is a damn good player.
Go rams
Mike Hull is "the gifted one" - he has everything going for him, academics, manners, personality, athletics, looks, etc. We look forward to following him in anything he choses to do with his life.
Behind every good RB there is a great OL and behind every good LB there is a great DL. Hull has been reaping the benefits of alex FT pihakis for three years now. Hull is very good in his own right, but pihakis makes him great. Alex also has academics, manners, personality, athleticism, looks, etc going for him. So lets agree to follow him as well in anything he chooses to do with his life.
I am new to this site. To tell you the truth I think Alex Pihakis has a hang-up about his lack of height. I've seen M. Hull make numerous tackles and multiple runs when Pihakis was on the sidelines for a breather. The last time I counted there were 5 offensive linemen. I don't know the Pihakis boy off the field. It just seems to me that if he is continuously shoved down people's throats, something is amiss!! Let's see how Pihakis does next year. I understand he's only a young man and I appreciate his effort. I am never one to diss someone for trying.
what does the FT stand for? Feather Toes?
Why don't you CM fans act more like your coach. He has heart, character and calls a spade a spade. Learn from him. You can't even be happy for your own teammates.
Yes pihakis has academics, manners, personality etc. Perhaps we should give him a Nobel Prize and just get it over with. I mean thats why this kid was kicked off of the baseball team for skipping school to attend a penguins hockey game instead of accompanying the baseball team to their game against north allegheny.
Alex please stop posting entries on behalf of yourself. If you feel inferior to the other members of your team perhaps you need to take a step back and just be happy with the contributions you have made to the first W of the season.
Feather Toes was kicked off the baseball team! Now that's a quality player for you, letting his team down - what were his priorities at the time? I think a Nobel Peace prize for loyalty is in order. I am not a CM fan - I am following this blog because it's an excellent read!
Who is #74 for CanonMcmillen and where was he last year. He is huge and played a good game.
Is Pihakis related to the school board member of the same last name? If so, that could answer a lot of the questions presented by the blog.
Also I doubt F.T. stands for feather toes. My guess is Full Throttle because that is how he plays football.
#74 for the Big Macs is Dominic Broglia. He is huge and a wonderful person. Got to know him recently. Well-rounded. He is an altar server at St. Patrick's - don't see that much any more! He did have a great game. Keep an eye on this kid.
FT is Fat Tits and that is the truth no lie
wow this could be the dumbest thing ive ever read on this blog
I know Alex personnally and he is a great kid. Anyway, on the field he's an animal and I love playin with him. I won't be surprised if he get's some offers from some big name schools.
Is Dominic Broglia related to CM gym teacher John Trovato? They look like perhaps brothers or maybe Trovato is his uncle?
FAT-TITS-HAS-FAT-TITS-PERIOD
what about ALEX ADAMS???? u seen him in the paper manhandling JOE HAVRILAK........ C-M FLATTENS TRINITY
