Predicting the seeds

The WPIAL Football PLayoff Pairings will be released Monday. The Varsity Letters offers ts thoughts on how the brackets should be seeded. Keep in mind a few things: 1. No same-conference opponents in the first round; 2. The WPIAL tries to avoid pairings teams who played each other during the year (for example Trinity and Greensburg-Salem); and, 3. If an attractive first-round matchup can be drawn (i.e. Washington at South Fayette), it gets done.

doesnt matter who wash high plays, just happy to be playing. you never know what can happen in the playoffs.the last three games wash high played this year had to be the most exciting three games in a row they ever played.south fayette sounds good. the kids dont care. they wont be afraid.

Wash High has a shot. Especially if they get South Fayette. I saw SF play and I wasn't very impressed. The balance of the Interstate Conference will pay off for those teams this weekend. The conference is sending GCC as a third place team, that should tell you something about how strong it is. If they don't give Mt. Pleasant the number 1 seed, they are missing the boat.

Amen Prexie, we get better every game. Exciting is mild, we know how to battle back, we have the tools to be successful.
South Fayette is always a rival on the basketball court, let see what kind of rivalry we can bring to the gridiron. GO PREXIES!!

I think SF-Wash, if it happens, would be an excellent first round matchup.

I've gotten the feeling that people view the Interstate Conference as down this year. I tend to agree with posters in that it is balanced and tougher than outsiders perceive.

We'll see how much respect the conference gets tonight at the pairings meeting and how the four representatives fare in the first round.
