One year ago, nine teams from Washington and Greene counties entered the first round of the WPIAL football playoffs. None made it to the quarterfinals.
Eight teams (Beth-Center, Burgettstown, Carmichaels, Fort Cherry, Jefferson-Morgan, McGuffey, Trinity and Washington) qualified this year and three of them (Beth-Center, Fort Cherry and McGuffey) host first-round games.
Will one or more teams break the losing streak? Many outsiders say no. The Varsity Letters sees three teams advancing.

You better take another look at your stats. 1.) Monessen won the Tri-county south so obviously are home this week, which was failed to mention.. and 2.) The Greyhounds DID advance to the quarterfinals last year playing Clariton at EF.
Mike I like your Trinity over Mars prediction.. But can you tell me what your prediction is for CM and Peters? Oh yeah thats right
Uhhh, Monessen is not in Washington or Greene County. Those were the teams I was referring to in this post.
But I'll take another look at my stats.
Serra Catholic will handle Beth Center without Hetherington. Choo Choo
class A looks pretty good with the exception of serra, they will own beth center
