West Greene keeps coach

The West Greene School Board elected not to open the varsity football head coaching position held by Charles Harris by a 7-2 vote at Thursday's meeting.

Harris enters his third year as the Pioneers coach. His career record is 3-15 after an 0-9 season in 2009. West Greene competes in the Class A Tri-County South Conference and last made the WPIAL playoffs in 1995, when it reached the championship game.

Now? NOW? The school board wanted to open his position now? A week into the season? Are you kidding me? No wonder they struggle down there. You need some consistency and coach Harris has given them that if nothing else! Wonder what position Director Coss's son plays or didn't play?

Why would you try to fire someone in August? This needs to be done right after the season, so the new coach has enough time to run his program in the spring and summer. WG might win 3 games this season so I'm sure that he will get fired in DECEMBER.
