Correction...Carmichaels @ Waynesburg, 10:00 A.M. Sat morning

Peters will blow out Connellsville on the next step to Heinz Field.

Why is waynesburg playing a single A school? That's not going to prepare you for Jennette, GCC, Mt. pleasant, East Alleghany.

Waynesburg played a triple A school last week.

The way the Brownsville/Frazier/Carmichaels scrimmage was ran, it was hard to really get a good feel of any of the teams.

Brownsville scored twice (once against both teams). Neither Frazier or Carmichaels scored. Frazier had a lot of turnovers on offense and their QB threw a few nice passes. They couldn't seem to really get too much going. Same goes for Carmichaels. Their defense made some big hits, but also gave up some big plays.

Hagans done till october.. how do you think the big macs will do now??

Anyone get to see the Trinity/Uniontown scrimmage? How did THS do?

THSfan said...

Trinity scored once on the ten play series. They scored four more times playing with chains and clock. They actually played a full half. The starters played maybe half the scrimmage. The second team saw a good bit of action.
Uniontown couldn't get much offense going at all. They did break a big run on the second team defense, but not much else. The Red Raiders didn't score. Uniontown looked kind of sloppy with a lot of penalties.
Trinity looks like they could have a good year.

The JV score was 2-1 Trinity.

how did peters do at their scrimmage?

Anonymous said...

Peters completly dominated, it wasn't even close...peters looked impressive even though the competition was really weak...those farm boys couldn't handle peters' speed

Thanks for the update THSfan! Good to hear!

I heard Carmichaels thumped Waynesburg. The raiders are in for a tough year then.

Waynesburg has been bad for 10 years now. It's not the coaches fault that the kids are small and slow. If there was tons of talent they would win more but 10 years and 3 coaches later still the same outcome. The problem might be that the kids think that they will play in college somewhere and reality is that at a high school with a good program that they would be a water boy.

wash high held their own against beaver falls. beaver falls scored on a drive but not until their second possesion. they also scored on an interception return after wash high was moving the ball downfield. wahington spread the offense out a little (finally). they need to get the skill players the ball in open field.washington missed on a couple passes but all in all the qbs and recievers did good. washington defense had a couple lapses but they played the # 2 aa school in wpial very well. either the #2 ranking is wrong or wash high is getting alot better. i think the latter. wash high jv scored on their jv. backups played very well. the final was 3 to 1. i dont think beaver falls can handle greensburg cc but i could be wrong.

The Albert Gallatin/Clairton scrimmage was a joke. A joke. AG is a AAA school. They approached the Clairton coaching staff prior to the game and asked that the Clairton players not hit the AG players. Seriously. After the first series of getting a little contact, AG pulled their starters and wouldnt put them in the rest of the scrimmage. Clairton dominated AG.

Unbelievable...

Hey Prexie,

Who are the front runners at the skill positions for Wash High? I haven't heard much hype so far.

Uniontown got thumped. Albert Gallatin was scared of a little contact. Sounds like another good year of football is ahead over in Fayette County.

wash high skill players marquis brown qb , shifty good speed decent arm will do well if he hangs in pocket. rb daron whitaker freshman 4.5 speed great moves needs time. zach barnes hard nosed player fullback. recievers troy wilson. tall good speed. jordan ribel good hands . julian anderson tall good hands good speed #2 qb. matt brower breakaway speed (having trouble figuring out where he will play rb wr but he needs to play) taz barfield rb hard nosed strong good speed. brian thomas tight end good speed tall and strong.chris fowler good speed good moves. mike will probably need more time to evaluate some of the talent and figure were the kids fit in the offense. most of the skill positions are juniors or lower only brown and wilson are seniors. the o line will determine alot of their success.

yeah thats why carmichaels beat waynesburg. thats pretty sad that you say that a Single A school shouldnt play a Triple A school when Carmichaels beat Waynesburg. Ha. Carmichaels @ Fort Cherry Friday September 4 at 7:30

ok this is just for the moron who was to afraid to post their name who stated that waynesburg has been bad for the past decade.... first off coach moore took them to the playoffs how many times? 3 or 4? winning one of those which is not bad by any means then coach sarah came and no they didnt win any playoffs but he never had any terrible losing seasons and i think everyone agrees this last coach was a mistake but now we have a coach who is driven and is inspiring the kids who u say are at fault...here is a little lesson for u while yes some kids are just plain good at it some are only as good as they are coached so its an even split of fault...and as for this season and i'm sure next season u will be wondering why u put ur foot in ur mouth so start savoring the taste now... and as for the small and slow comment i'll put my money on a kid who is 5'11" 230lbs of muscle who can run a 4.5 40 over ur sluggish 300lbs of fat. so who ever u are next time u comment grow a pair and leave ur name cause we are waynesburg and we ain't scared

Lets take a good look at the WPIAL program, I see that there is a hate for the Waynesburg football players. For starts WPIAL looks at total males at a given school not eligible players! If Waynesburg was judged by eligible players it would only be a AA school, but due to the fact ALL other schools in Greene ship their students who need extra attention to Waynesburg (Which is because the other school districts do not provide these programs)and they are included in the total school count. Now with that said, Carmicheal beat no one in the match against Waynesburg, 10 and switch is the way it works in a scrimmage. I, after reading comments left here on this blog ( Did you people really attend a school?), feel that education at the schools you brag about need to stop spending money on sports and really concentrate on education!!!

For the record, Wburg is a AA school, not AAA, but that is not my point. Anyone who knows anything about football knows Carmichaels did not WIN the scrimmage against Wburg. Physically, they hit each other pretty good, but Waynesburg moved the ball on the ground the entire scrimmage. Carmichaels got two long bombs against busted coverage and did not get any yards on the ground. From where I sat, Waynesburg ran a very basic offense and defense which I know Coach Kuhns is NOT known for so lets not condemn the program until we see their performance in a real game with a real game plan.

Neither varsity teams scored in the Brownsville/Beth-Center scrimmage. Beth-Center did score once when the JVs were in. Beth-Center's QB (Faieta) looked pretty good and they had a nice running back that's a sophomore. Doesn't look like Tarley is playing this year for the Bulldogs.
