APB, Where are they now?

After an unsuccessful search for former Peters Township and Major League Baseball baseball player Brian Simmons, the Varsity Letters issues another All Points Bulletin for former Canon-McMillan softball pitcher Becca Petras.

Name the pitching record at Canon-McMillan and Petras owns it.

During her day, the Big Macs were among the best teams in WPIAL Class AAAA as Petras struck out 695 with a 0.75 ERA. As a junior, Petras led the WPIAL in strikeouts during the regular season.

Anyone knowing Petras' whereabouts is urged to contact the Varsity Letters.

I believe shes at Duquesne. They don't have softball so just a student.

What happened to the CM Blog earlier?

She attended Allegheny College for the fall semester of her freshman year for softball. After the fall season she decided to transfer to Duquesne because she didn't like the situation at Allegheny. Since Duquesne doesn't have a team, she obviously hasn't been playing lately. But still pitches in her free time and sometimes helps the current CM high school team with batting practice.

When will the CM baseball team return from the South?

Mike,
Please hurry with another CM baeball posting. I am suffering withdrawl symptoms!!!

I was just looking online and I saw Canon-McMillan listed their record at 4-2. They were 1-1 up north and then they played 3 full games on their southern trip (going 2-1). So by my math they should be 3-2 overall. Did I miss a game? Perhaps they played yesterday and just didn't report a score? Or did they count a game that lasted only 3 innings against Chesnee down in South Carolina? I sure hope they didn't count that game as 3 innings is not an official game.

canon-mac is going to keep it's illegal win so do not worry. Frank Zebrasky does not know the rules of the game or if he does he doesn't have any integrity. Either way what else would we expect from this mess of district.

Haha she does look just like her and sounds like her too. Maybe that's why the old coach resigned, so he could take care of the kid while his wife was on tour with the WWE.

10-runned by Bethel to start off the section season? Ouch!

Anyone know who pitched for CM? I'm assuming Pierpont started but I've been wrong before.

I guess the Big Macs won't be adding ay hardware to the trophy case.

I hear Steve Bucci coached Bethel Park.

y is everyone talking about cm baseball on a softball blog?

There is plenty of time left for canon-mac to get into the thick of the playoff race. The defense definitely needs to play better, but overall this is still an extremely dangerous team. I'd like to see more of Lombardo behind the plate because he is sooo much better defensively than Totterdale. Hopefully this move is made before section play gets any deeper.

Also, I expect this section to be highly competitive. A 6-4 record might win it!

Why was the Bucci's wife looks like Vicki Guerrero from the WWE post removed? That seemed like a compliment considering it said his wife is a celebrity look-alike!

I don't know that Justin Baker has reached deity status just yet, but the team did sorely miss his presence in the lineup yesterday. With Baker and Boris both out of the lineup I think we have to give the B'Macs a mulligan. Besides there are 9 section games left and they are only 1 game out of first! We just have to be patient with Frank Zebrasky, Cahill, and Matt Baker. They know what's best for this team and will get better. Cahill is still lagging in terms of his baseball knowledge and overall coaching ability but he is slowly getting better. I guess he's just use to the "pro" philosophy of setting a lineup and then checking out mentally. You still have our support Johnny C! Maybe buy a coaching book or something.

That's right, it was the coaching that led to a 10-run drubbing

Fear not Canon-Mac faithful. Today will be a bounce back game against the Hemp. I think we take them out in 3 innings:

Final score...
Canon-Mac 18
Hempfield 1

No way canon mac makes the playoffs...these idiot coaches can not even figure out to throw your ace in the first section game, even though the second section games isn't till next week!

Umm anon, they threw Mike Toward. He is the ace. Who else did you want them to throw? Maybe I could see Pierpont, but they do not have a backup shortstop with Baker being injured. Give this coaching staff some credit!

There was a Becca Petras sighting yesterday at the CM baseball game! Her cousin is (Scuba)Steve Roach.

i have a question for you mike, who do you think will win the section 1A softball section and the section 2AA based on the results so far?

Anonymous said...

And Matt Pierpont is her boyfriend's younger brother.

To answer anon's question,

It's too early to predict softball section winners but in 1-A, Bentworth is the early favorite after defeating Serra Catholic. The section is very good, however, and that could change.

As for Section 2-AA, McGuffey is the frontrunner. Again, it's a very strong section and things could easily change.
