Friday night felt a little odd. It was only the 10th week of the WPIAL football season and I was nowhere near a high school football game after local teams went 0-9 in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Varsity Letters is a little curious.
What did local high school fans do Friday night?
Did you attend a game anyway?
Did you check out Michael Cavanaugh singing Billy Joel hits at Heinz Hall?
Did you get ready for Pitt-Louisville, WVU-Cincinnati or Penn State-Iowa?

more than likely mike most of the readers of this blog sat in their parents basements devising plans on how to unite the Ringgold football community, figuring out how the best offensive line in WPIAL history (CM small macs) lost a playoff game and playing dungens and dragons with their customary nighttime head gear on...
Hey, that's what I did.
I sat in the freezing cold to watch Ohio U get the beat down from Bowling Green. Embarrassing as always Ohio U football. Then I went back to my dorm and played dungeons and dragons with my customized headset! lol
Got ready to watch Peters boys soccer play the beautiful game the way it is supposed to be played. And the PT girls are still in the running for a state title as well.
I went to the Monaca-SSB game, and watched the indians dismantle the beav 35-0 by halftime. Looking forward to the Clairton-Rochester game being hosted locally this friday and heading out again for some quality HS football action...
went and saw TJ play. was not impressed with their team as i have been in the past. the hopewell freshman running back ran right thru them which was funny because i heard a TJ parent say he'd have 23 yards on 18 carries. haha (he had somewhere around 150) anyway, i never heard such sour adult fans than i heard from tj. they asked the ref how much hes getting paid by hopewell because of a facemask. im pretty sure you cant rip someones head off via a facemask but hey they needed something to complain about. and another time was when hopewells running back fielded a kickoff unclean at the 10 (bobbled and fumbled again) he took it the 30 while making about 5 guys miss immediately. he got hurt on that play and i heard cheers. never in my life have i heard such terrible sportsmanship at a high school game
JD, you forgot to mention the beat down YOU got in Dungeons and Dragons!!! I totally PWND you. n00b. F34r m3.
I went the McKeesport v Central Game. It was a full house. It was amazing. McKeesport has some weapons.
And to reply to anon, I have a computer in my bedroom. I also prefer Halo 3.
I agree with the person who said TJ people lack sportsmanship. The people are arrogant because they can be. Their team wins year in and year out. But the beauty of it is, you can not be good every year. When TJ is having some rough times, they will be even worse, because I could bet that any team that can run up the score will. I remember reading a Valley Independent article with EF's coach saying something like: "I will be here to beat TJ." (Don't quote me.) People hate TJ, and I can see why.
lol oh yeah
I was in a hotel room getting ready to play Ohio State then J.D. called my crying because he got beat playin dungeons and dragons lol
Everyone goes after the top dog. It's called jealousy and bitterness. I've been there too, TJ gave my team a thumpin one year and we wanted to do whatever we could to get them back... And they thumped us again. Their goals are running up the score or rubbing it in, it's more like making sure they are playing efficient and sharp so they are not off when they play a less inferior opponent. BTW, you will hear fans like that anywhere you go. Those fans let their competitiveness get the best of them.
jmat don't get mad because your a world of warcraft fan, just leave me and dungeons and dragons alone lol
man that rushel shell is good. hes strong and quick and exposed tjs only weakness (stopping a serious running attack)
