PT boys, girls advance to state finals

The Varsity Letters is live from the Chambersburg Panera after covering the PIAA Class AAA boys soccer semifinal between Peters Township and Central Bucks East.

The Indians advanced to Saturday's state championship for the second straight year with a 2-0 victory. They will play at Hersheypark Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Peters Township girls advanced to the PIAA Class AAA girls final for the first time with a 3-0 win over Hampton. The Indians play at 5 p.m. Saturday, also at Hersheypark Stadium.

The Varsity Letters will have much more on both teams in the upcoming days.

Mike,
When do you expect the O-R to do it's high school basketball preview? Obviously we are still a couple of weeks away, but do you have any thoughts on the upcoming season?

Give South Park girls some love, they have won more than anyone recently.

Mike, when the Basketball preview does come out, I would like to see the Top 10, or at least Top 5 local players to watch this season...

We don't do a special basketball preview. We preview teams by classification.

But it's still soccer season in my world.

Basketball will wait.

As for South Park, they are a strong program. Last time I checked, however, South Park is not part of our coverage area.

Now, this blog extends beyond the coverage area, but my main topics tend to stay within our boundaries.

Soccer? Isn't that the sport 6 year olds play?

Yes, for 6-year-olds with far more intelligence than the previous poster, which accounts for 99.999999999999 percent of 6-year-olds.

Soccer - the sport for 6 year olds and drunken hooligans in England.

Those soccer hooligans in Scotland are rather rowdy.
