Congrats to Peters on an excellent season! Back to Back Champions in AAAA is quite remarkable! Good Luck in States!

P.S. Do you have any idea when the O-R releases the all O-R Baseball team ? What are your predictions for that and player of the year?

If you put out a list of o-r allstars I think you should also put out a list of all star coaches, including assistants. If so, I nominate c-m's pitching coach Tim Miller - he's made the most of his teams pitchers (no D1s here) and his pitch calling has been outstanding. Obviously, most of the pitchers on the team have bought into his calls. He's a good guy and c-m should hope that he continues with them.

Who cares about the cm pitching coach, this is a blog about the WPIAL CHAMPION Peters Twp. Indians. Go somewhere else to brag about your own coaching ability. Congrats to Joe Maize and team, what a testament to never giving in when things look tough. This team struggled big time but never gave up and the cream came to the top when it all counted.

In response to the last blog: If you will look two items above your garbage, you will see a P.S. that asks about an all o-r team, my comments were directed to that p.s. as an aside. You are typical of the pt system, you think the world revolves around you. Do you honestly think that every pt player will be named to the all o-r team - can you be so stupid. And since when is any blog devoted to pt. I congratulated your team in person last evening. That's more than you and your classless blog indicate you would have done. Grow up.

Oh, I'm sorry Coach Miller, I looked at the title of the blog and it read PT-Plum baseball, maybe it doesn't work over there in CM. No, I do not think, for a second, that the all OR team should be all PT players just because the won the WPIAL. Get a clue, it must suck to be so envious.

Like I said, CONGRATS TO THE PT PLAYERS, COACHES AND FANS FOR A WPIAL TITLE!!!!!

I am a cm parent not coach miller; you are the poor slob who has to result to this garbage. I'll bet you never won anything as a player and so you live through these kids. They don't deserve you. As I said I congratulated the team last evening; I actually went to the game to cheer them on, after all they are a local team (more so than Plum). Again, congrats to the team, too bad you have such a piece of garbage in your fan base that he/she can only make this blog about him/her, not really about the team.

As a team you have earned every right to boast about your success, two in a row is outstanding. I'll be sorry to see kids like Pat Gallagher (who I assume is a senior) leave the team. He's a good kid and we've competed against him for I believe 4 years. There are a few other seniors who have earned the respect of their competitors - they'll be missed as well.

Again, PT congrats and I mean it in spite of the idiot who has made this personal.

A C-M parent (not too small to say well done).

Envious of Peters, you have to be joking. For a number 8 seed to win the WPIAL is a nice accomplishment. In a one game do or die situation, anything can happen with 17,18 year player. There is no coincidence why you trailed CM the ENTIRE baseball season.

mike_kovak said...

There will be an O-R all-star baseball team. Peters Township and Canon-McMillan will be represented.

There will not be an O-R all-star coaches team.

A job well done by the five local teams (PT, C-M, Trinity, Carmichaels in baseball and Wash High in softball) who qualified for states.

Anonymous said...

Who is trailing whom now? CM had a chance to put Peters away and out of the playoffs and they got blown out! As for making this post about me you must be a complete idiot, you tried to make this about you, or your coach.

Again, Congrats PT!

This is funny. PT fans, when you are done flexing in the mirror, resume posting. Thanks.

I have to chuckle at your last comment, being blown away by Peters, who was struggling to earn a berth into the WPIAL while CM had already clinched the section 3 title the night we played. We at CM are proud of your accomplishments because it shows what type of conference we have but to be envious of your success fall flat in the face of what it takes to win it all in a conference that is the toughest in PA. Enjoy your stint as WPIAL champs, and we will enjoy our stint as knowing when you play a season over 15 games, against competitive teams day in day out, CM walked away with the conference title as the best team in the best section of the state!! GO MACS

Anonymous said...

Yeah, you're right, I know everyone cherish's a conference title WAY more so than a WPIAL title, what was I thinking?

Anonymous said...

Championships...

Section < WPIAL < PIAA

Silly to argue something like that. Season isnt over yet though

Anonymous said...

I think you are missing the entire point. The way the WPIAL is set up, Peters is primed to be a contender with JJ and Merich (sp?) as your lead one and one A starters. Hence Peters success in the post season doesn't come as a surprise when you have two major horses on your team. On the other hand, CM has started 3 different pictures in the post season. Hence CM is better suited for the long haul while Peters is better suited for a one game and 4 days rest play off situation.

Anonymous said...

So what is your point? Let me see if I follow your moronic reasoning. PT beat CM 2 games to 1 in the regular season, CM won the section and PT won the WPIAL and yet CM is some way superior to PT?

Get a clue! What CM accomplished this year was great, but Peters is clearly the better team and the much better program. Back to back WPIAL titles in AAAA baseball, when has CM ever accomplished that?

If CM keeps working hard, maybe someday they can get to the level that PT is at right now, good luck getting to our level.

Anonymous said...

To last Anon... You are exactly why CM and many other schools despise PT. You are the epitome of... well i don't think i can use those words here.

Anyways... I agree PT is the more talented team and the better program, but so what? What is your point? CM is a program on the rise.

What the person before you was saying is that PT has two studs on the mound while CM has 3 very good pitchers. This is why PT is a better 1 game team and CM had more success over the course of a 20 game season.

Mr. Anonymous, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this blog is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

As someone who has covered many a run in the state playoffs, I believe it's better to have a 1A and 1B to make a strong run in the state playoffs.

When Peters Township made back-to-back title games, they pitched Rossi and Gallagher the first year. The second year they went with Rossi and Conley.

That said, both PT and C-M could make long runs.

PT has two horses in Jankowski and Merich. CM has three pitchers of equal strength. Personally, I would start Dittmar and Pierpont and close with Douglas. A good closer or stopper this time of year is invaluable.

Also, look for Carmichaels to make a run in Class A. People still don't realize how good their top two pitchers are in Lapkowicz and Gasti. Again, a 1A and 1B.

Trinity, with Frey and Schrader, also has a 1A and 1B.

So, what am I saying? Basically, I can see all four local baseball teams making a run at states though I feel one or two teams is better suited than the rest.

And, at this point, what happened in the regular season does not matter. It's one-and-done time.

What does Peters defeating CM 2 to 1 have to do with which team is better? Peters got spanked twice by Bethel Park, while CM swept the season series and I believe Peters also lost the season series to USC while CM won 2 out of 3 against the Hawks. Therefore based your idiot logic, Bethel Park and USC has a far superior team than Peters. To echo the master B sentiments, and I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It would be very difficult to begin to construct a baseball ranking but it is a legit web site
that ranks all sport across the nation so I would think there process has some validity to it. Any better idea of how to rank the top teams in sports across PA or for that matter across the US?

Don’t kill the process, just another interesting talk piece. Surely no one believes that Peters is #1.

the fact that they rank everything across the country in my opinion kills their credibility to each individual region. They analysis is so wide spread but it lacks depth and quality. Do they list any reasons behind these rankings? Or at least a comment about each team? They don't know the players and coaches like people in each region do. They can't really follow the season the way newspapers do. All they have are stats and reputations. The fact that USC is in there at #14and Central Catholic isn't listed is a joke.

just reading back through old blogs and i think everyone now agrees that the 2008 big macs were better than the 2008 indians. the teams split 2-2 during the season. cm won two titles, including the big one, and they did it in dominating fashion. peters won 1.
