The rematch we've all been waiting for.

CM vs PT Round 4

Should be a good one.

This game needs no hype. Section Champs vs WPIAL Champs.
It all boils down to Thursday afternoon.

You know, buddy, you are a real jerk. No one was talking about the wpial v section issue. The score was put on this site as our game was not broadcast and some fans knew to check this blog for a final score. Take you wpial champ and ...

By the way, pt team, good job (in spite of the jerks who try to ruin your reputations with their venom)

What is with you CM fans and your little man attitudes? All the guy pointed out was it was a great matchup between a team that won the section and one that one the WPIAL and you chose to jump all over him? Venom?

Good luck PT, I don't think you'll need it with JJ and Merich both available to pitch and the hot bats it should be a fun game.

Any thoughts on a site for the PT-CM game? Hard to believe it won't be in Washington County, either at W&J or Consol Energy Park. I've got to think that if it's at the Wild Things' home we could see a sellout! What a great, meaningful game that shows just how much of a power Washington County is in high school baseball.

Peters is the best team in state hands down. They may also be the best team the AAAA division has ever produced. However, this CM team just keeps plugging away. I noticed after looking at their schedule that all of their playoff games have been one-run affairs and the last 3 have gone extra innings. Either that's the sign of a very average team being fortunate or a really good team that just knows how to win. Either way, the edge goes to Peters, but given the grit of the boys from Canonsburg I guess we cannot count them out.

As a fan, I doubt you will ever find a bigger game involving two Washington County teams. Heck, this game is like a Division 1 college baseball super regional.

Game site will be at Washington Wildthings stadium at 6pm.
I agree, this should be a sellout.

Anon,

Can you tell me where your info came from on the site and time? We haven't seen anything to confirm.

Plus, we were told they were only going to use Consol Energy Park if they could host a doubleheader. Trinity won but Blackhawk lost in the first round, which eliminated that as a possibility.

Even if it is at Consol, I don't see it being a sellout for several reasons but I hope I'm wrong. The day the Pirates draft Neil Walker, Pine-Richland played Peters Twp. in the first round of state at Falconi and even that game was not a sellout.

The information is on the CM HighSchool.net web site. (http://highschoolsports.net/defaultcal.cfm?ct=w&school=PA153173427&spt=-1&lvl=-1&division=-1&schoolid=PA153173427&CFID=9760032&CFTOKEN=66674670&timeoffset=240)

I don’t think Pine – Richland or any other school for that matters travels as well as CM. Plus there are other factors that will contribute that may not have been present previously. Peters and CM basically are heated rivals and the most important reason, the CM Crazies are supposed to represent. It may not be a sell out but the Canon Crazies are expected to make a return for this game. If you were around during the play off run last year from basketball, especially at the CV site game, the game was a sellout and CM contributed well over 70% of the crowd.

Weather looks perfect for an early evening game. Should be a great game!

Looks like Peters is going to start the man, the myth, and the legend in Jordan "chocolate truffles" jankowski. He owned CM on May 7th and has always owned CM. Clearly the best player ever in the state of Pennsylvania- although his dad is a jerk haha

PT the best AAAA team ever in the state? C'mon lets get real. They are a very very good team but the best ever?

To paraphrase the great Ron Burgundy, "Leave the fathers out of this."

And,

"You stay classy Canon-McMillan and Peters Township."

To answer an earlier post, I would have to say that CM’s success in 1 run games can be attributed to the fact that these players are so relaxed in any situation and are very good players who perform well under pressure. Including play-offs, CM is 8-1 in games in 1 run games this year. I don’t think that can be attributable to just plain luck.

I wouldn’t say the JJ owned CM during that game. “Chocolate truffles”
did record 14 strikeouts, however it still was a close game (5-4 at the end of
5th inning) heading into the top of the 6th .

Jordan Chocolate Truffles Jankowski will throw a perfect game no-hitter with 21 strikeouts versus those chumps from CM. I, errr JJ, will crush all who stand in the way of the PT state title.

Ok ... enough with the personal attacks. Either offer some intelligent, interesting conversation or have some good-natured fun or do not post.

"best player in the state ever." I hope that was said tongue in cheek.

CM needs to jump on PT early to win this one. They can't let JJ get in a groove on the mound and expect to win. PT is loaded at the plate so I'd imagine CM is gonna haveto put up some runs. If there is one flaw in JJ's game i'd say it's his composure and emotions. He sometimes lets his emotions(positive or negative) get the best of him, and a potentially rowdy CM crowd (assuming post of Canon Crazies attending is accurate)could play a role in the outcome of this game. If CM can get to JJ early and put up some runs in the first couple innings, i really like their chances.

Something has me feeling like CM is win this one. I'll go ahead and take a shot in the dark and say CM prevails 9-7.

Can anyone give me an update on the status of academic suspensions involving both CM and Peters for the upcoming game? I was told that each team had academically ineligible kids that would be missing the game thursday. I hope it's not true as it would be great to see both teams play with their full rosters. However if there are ineligible players, I hope the respective administrations take the appropriate actions because I think the term is "student-athlete" and that has to carry some weight.

Along the same lines, whatever happened to that pitcher from peters a few years ago (approx 2004) that ran into some school and legal problems? He was very talented and tall. O'connolly? I hope that young man was able to turn things around and maybe even have a successful college career.

Seems odd for someone to be ineligeable at this time and not say a week or two ago considering finals are taking place right now which means probably not a whole lot of graded material recently...

Just as long as PT doesnt get over
confident...they should prevail.
Even if JJ is not focussed, he will
find a way to win. He loves baseball, and is a joy to watch !

Anonymous said...

Not that you're assessment is necessarily wrong, but I'm pretty sure all of the kids out there love the game of baseball. That's why they have been playing their entire lives.

The MLB Scouting Bureau Draft Report lists JJ at 6'1 265Lbs. Are those numbers accurate? I remember one of the newspapers saying he lost 50 pounds to get down to 250Lbs. Also, what happened to the 4 different trainers he had, the nutrionist, the speed coach, the supplement guru, etc that JJ had in his camp. I heard a lot about his "entourage" last year, but no mention of them this year.

In response to an earlier post, Will McClure has been academically ineligible this season (twice I think). He has been teetering on the brink of eligible/ineligible all season. As a freshman are classes that difficult? I wish the district would emphasize academics more because Will has some brain-talent but unfortunately they are glorifying him as the next big "baseball God" and he is ignoring his responsibilities in the classroom. Its a damn shame.

Anonymous said...

JJ Rocks I agree that it is unfortunate for the McClure boy to blow off his academic responsibilities. Hopefully he has a good support system at home and they can set him straight.

To the post before that, 265LBS??? Wow I knew JJ didn't have an "ideal" baseball body, but geez we are talking about him possibly being too big for even the NFL!

Congrats to Pat "the class" Gallagher for athlete of the week. What a great young man and a true high character guy that any team would be lucky to have. I don't know if it has been said, but without this guy the behemoth known as Jordan Chocolate Truffles Jankowski would have zero championships.

Austin Herbie Hancock is another that is on the brink of academic ineligibility. As one poster said about McClure, Hancock does have "brain talent" but he is another player that has been glorified as a "baseball God." I guess in addition to parents you would have to blame Joe Maize too for not caring about his players off the field. "What have you done for ME lately" will probably be on the Joe Maize gravestone someday.

As for the post on 6/4/08 at 142am, the name of the boy was Jason Conley. He was very talented as a player, but his career was sidetracked after an incident involving alcohol, a school bus, a hit and run, and a police chase.

I think you meant to say that JJ got rocked!
