Carmichaels-Serra
Jacobsen coming to you from Consol Energy Park where Carmichaels is playing Serra in the PIAA Class A semifinals. Serra struck in the top of the first but Carmichaels countered with a big inning due to some Serra miscues. 4-1 Mikes after one.
Dave Bates may have just seen his state title hopes go up in smoke. Joby Lapkowicz tried to score from second on a passed ball and was easily thrown out but was also hurt on the play. He just limped off after being down for several minutes. Chuck Gasti is now pitching. Appeared to be Lapkowicz's ankle appeared to be the problem.

The good news? Mikes up 5-1 after two.
Gasti strikes out the side in the third but three Serra singles make it 5-2 after three.

Still 5-2 sfter four. Gasti has 5 Ks and the other out was on a caught stealing.
6-2 Mikes after five but Mikes had runners on the corners and none out but couldn't scratch any more across.
Three outs away for Carmichaels. Entering the bottom of the sixth, still 6-2. Gasti has 8 Ks in 4 innings.
Nice spear on a sharp liner by Serra reliever Mike Tedesco to turn an inning ending DP. Six complete, Carmichaels 6, Serra 2.
Carmichaels in the state title game. 6-2 final, great game by Gasti. Struck out 11 in five innings.
