Another Jeannette/Pryor incident

By now, most have heard about the post-game altercation between the boys basketball teams at Jeannette and North Catholic high schools. Here's a link to Post Gazette writer Mike White's story:

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08069/863735-361.stm

Notice how Terrelle Pryor said no one on Jeannette started the fight. That may be true but, as I previously reported, these incidents are not new to Pryor and Jeannette.

Should be interesting to see how the WPIAL handles the situation. What do you think they should do?

Since this isn't Pryor's first run-in with unsportsmanship-likeness (South Fayette game and even the WPIAL championship game- I heard he jumped up on the scorer's table mouthing off post-game!) , I say suspend him for the rest of the playoffs. And their moron coach. Sounds like he has great control of his kids to allow them to march down the hall towards North Catholic's locker room. These thugs need to be taught a lesson.

NC was never in this game and Jeannette should just let the score do the talking. It seem that the Jeannette coach lets his team do what ever they want. If Joe Long just called Pryor a name, than Pryor better get use to the name calling. Where ever he chooses, they will be calling him out alot. If it was a racial slur coming from Long mouth or any NC player than they deserved a beaten. You can not judge anyone until you hear the both side of the story. If your going to put blame on anyone it has to be Jeannette coach Jim Nesser for not controling his team.

WPIAL won't do anything. When was the last time the WPIAL did anything to any school or player? It's a gutless organization. They'll say don't let this happen again and that will be it. Do nothing and hope people will forget about it. That's the WPIAL's mode of operation. The WPIAL is too afraid of lawsuits to take any action.

The problem with this situation is how eerily similar it is to Pryor's behavior in the South Fayette game. There, he started taunting SF players and coaches as they entered the gym before fans even arrived, mouthed at SF players (all of whom completely ignored him - to their credit) throughout the game, made racial slurs at one of SF's players, threatened to "kill" SF students in the stands, blew off the SF coach in the pre-game introductions, and said "F### You"
to all of the SF players while going through the line at the end of what was otherwise a great game. After the game, as reported by Mr. Kovak, he wanted to fight fans and players in the hallway and had to be restrained. All of his behavior was reported to the WPIAL, but they chose to do absolutely nothing to him. The WPIAL deserves the embarrassment that they are going to get for not taking care of this problem when it had the chance. And shame on all of the adults that have sucked up to him rather than taken action. Pryor was clearly the instigator in the SF game, acted like a jerk in the Beaver Falls game (without even receiving a technical foul for jumping on the scorer's table and taunting the opposing fans), and now it has escalated. I have to laugh when the WPIAL requires all of the teams to read the sportsmanship code of conduct before every game, and then allows Pryor to behave they way he does. What a disgrace!

This seems like a Maurice Clarett situation in the making. Kid's got all this talent but seemingly no maturity or self-control.

Looks like Pryor has spent too much time with that PSU football team.... haha. But on a serious note, this is rather unfortunate and i think players should be suspended a game and both coaches and the officials should be investigated. A post game fight happens because of the game and what happens on the floor. I don't care what someone says going to the lockerroom, it starts on the floor. Shame on Nesser and his staff, shame on NC's staff, shame on security, and shame on site manager. I still can't beleive no one kept Pryor from this altercation. There's more than one coach and to say no one saw this coming is redic.

Is the pattern clear enough for everyone yet? Pryor has serious behavioral problems and it is only going to get worse. This is how he acted against South Fayette, and there would have been an identical altercation, except that Pryor did not get to the South Fayette locker room before the South Fayette players. People need to understand that Pryor is the INSTIGATOR of these problems. He is NOT merely responding to people's taunts. He IS the taunter. Officials and coaches have not had the guts to stop him. The OR was the only paper willing to to at least tell some of the story about his behavior (although I bet Mr. Kovak now wishes he had reported everything he knows about Pryor's behavior!).

We reported it because unlike the other area newspapers, we aren't trying to get a scoop out of the kid - where are you going and when will you sign?
This kid has had people telling him he can walk on water for so long now, he obviously believes it.
He will be a problem at whatever college he goes to, mark my word.
A monster has been created.

Pryor was being held by the Hempfield assistant coach according to the article. So that being said Pryor was there but not involved. I am not sure how the WPIAL can make a judgment, when it happens at a PIAA game. Should the PIAA make a ruling? Is it Pryor or the Jeanette team that seem to be the bad person? Little does anyone know but Pryor did transfer to Jeanette from Gateway I believe. I not sure the reason, but could there be a discipline issues there also? You would think that the coaches, athletic director, superintendent, or a school board director at Jeanette would step up and tell the coaches, take control of your team or you be out of a job. But yet again, they just might sit back and let these kids get away with want every it want.

From all reports I have heard, Pryor orignally attended the West Mifflin School District, not Gateway.

If the reports from the SF game are accurate, then this kid IS the instigator. I lost total respect for him when pulled the "look at me and bring the cameras so I Can announce that I have no announcement" on signing day... so I get more of the spotlight. I have serious doubts this kid's ability can overcome his attitude. He seems like a genuine D*ck.
