C-M baseball

Just to clarify all the rumors spreading on this blog concerning the Canon-McMillan High School baseball coaching position - as of last night, the position had not been filled.

No doubt, Bucci's timing was not the best for Canon-McMillan, especially the players. While athletic director Guy Montecalvo, the school board and others want to fill the position as quickly as possible, they want the best available candidate.

According to today's Observer-Reporter, a new coach can not be approved until March 16. The first game of the high school season is March 20.

"We've got Jack Smarslak and Justin White working with the team now," Montecalvo said. "They've been assistant coaches and they're both teachers here, but they really aren't interested in being the head coach."

Mike,

You are wrong. As of last night Zebrasky (the defensive coordinator of the Big Mac's football team) called Ken Barna to discuss the Spring Trip. He told Barna he was the new Head Coach and he also tried to retain Barna as a coach.

Barna is considering accepting the position so that at least one coach on the team has high school or college baseball experience. Since none of last year staff is in tact Barna also feels that this could give the team some stability.

Barhart, if you stay can we go to Ryan's again. I really miss that place.

Just wondering if they aren't naming a coach until March 16th when are they going to have try-outs. I checked the schedule and scrimmages are listed before then. When will try-outs be held they have to be a week long according to the W.P.I.A.L. rules.

Mikey Kovs with the hard hitting reporting and he can't even get his story right LOL. Frank Zebrasky is the new head coach period end of story. It is funny how this reporter is just a tool of canon-mac. He buys everything they say hook, line, and sinker. But I guess what should we respect-- he's just doing what most people do anyways "the least amount of work for the most pay." The bias towards always favoring administrators from the liberal media is disguisting.

The Ken Barna post was not ken barna. The name used was in reference to the first comment at 1:42pm.

IF Zebrasky has not been voted on by the school board, he officially is not the coach . He might be the recommended candidate, however. Mike Kovak is not wrong.

Since nothing is official yet they can still change their minds. If they were smart they would bring coach j back so that we can get this season started. He's aleady been approved by the board as the paid assistant so he could be the interim coach until the head job is approved for him. Plus he has more experience that coach z. He's been working is out in the off season too.

Why the unwarranted attack on Kovac was that really necessary this is why i love this blogs once every couple of posts there is an idiotic person making an outrageous claims

This CM team has sooo much talent it is rediculous! Are you kidding me!! This group of seniors knows how to beat GREAT teams. They had to wait their turn, but they are more than ready!!!! They are relieved to have a coaching staff that believes in them and will put in the time and effort. It is going to be a awesome season. Just wait and see. If the school board screws things up now, it will be on their heads!!!!!

Look, I wrote the story about the C-M coaching search. I specifically asked Guy Montecalvo about
Zebrasky being named head coach.
Now Zebrasky may be the person that Guy has in mind for the position, but the coach can't be officially hired until March 16.
So lay off Mike, jackass.

Frank Zebrasky will be a great coach. He's a players coach and he knows the game. He's a great guy and he is a great fit for the job. If Frank has the job, good luck to him and the team. The kids will have a blast playing for him and will learn a lot.

I can't believe I am saying this but I agree with Dale Lolley, haha. Mike does a great job with the blog outside of his real job. If you don't like what he says, don't read it or visit the site. Thats what I do when I see an article by Dale Lolley, I just ignore it and turn the page but this I agree with him. It will never happen again.

BTW, Zebrasky does have high school baseball coaching experience.

He worked as an assistant for Bob Peton at Wash High.

Dale,

Please specify who you are referring to as jackass. Is it the ken barna, the current big mac player, or brian-me? I feel the ken barna imposter said moronic things but stuff like that is common and deserves to be laughed at i think.
I mean, there are things said on this blog that are exponentially worse than this. Besides, i'm sure mike can handle his own pretty well.

Now if you're truly upset because it was your information that people are calling into question, well that's a different story.
Since apparently Zebrasky is not coach, did you get a list of the front runners atleast? Or info on what's really up with Zebrasky since you specifically asked about him? You did the interview, so how about instead of calling people jackasses, you give us more information than when tryouts were supposed to start? You list the names of Bucci's wife, his son, and the people running practices, but not one name of a potential coach. People say dumb things on here at times, and i promise im not this big of a jackass all the time, but since everyone has apparently been misled, where exactly does cm stand? Also, what's true/false about coach Abromovitz?

Dale Lolley said...

The Ken Barna poster is the jackass, but then you guys already knew that.

Plus, it takes a lot of courage to bash somebody under an assumed name or when you're anonymous.
If you're going to rip somebody be a man about it.

Dale Lolley said...

I'm boring. Here's to being a man about it. hahaha

Why does anyone even give a damn about who the Canon-Mac baseball coach is? It's a program that draws about 10 people to each game.

im pretty sure canon mac had the whole town at altoona when they won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

"im pretty sure canon mac had the whole town at altoona when they won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP"

I was there. I thought Carmichaels brought more people. Of course, playing early might have had something to do with it and both towns represented well.

pretty bad when a Class A school outdraws a triple-a school at the state championship game. hahaha.

All that really matters was that we won a state championship and Carmichaels didnt, enough said.
