I would like to know who comprises this all state list. Not one kid from Aliquippa on the 1st team. You gotta be kidding. right their in my opinion the list isnt legit. Also, after reading the post gazette all conf selections, your saying Jaylin, Shai and Rikwon are not some of the best players in the century conf. that is an insult to say the least.
All-state teams are voted on by sports writers, myself included. They come from player nominations by sports writers.
As for Aliquippa, the Quips local writers must not have done nominations. I am only concerned with getting local, worthy players nominated.
All-conference teams are compiled by coaches. The Wash High players you mentioned were 2nd team all-conf.
Mike,My comment may have been taken out of context. I was just asking who makes the list, not singling out anyone specifically. Its hard for me to understand how a team can be ranked #1 for15 weeks and not have a kid on the all state team. Kudos for you for pushing kids but Beaver county sportswriters missed the bus. I know I dont have a kid from Aliquippa but I do like to see kids who deserve it get their due.As I went back thru, no kid from a Beaver County school made it in AA. Last time I checked the Midwestern conf has some decent ball players.
Aliquippa certainly deserved some players on this list. To be honest, I didn't even notice the absence of Quips when I was filled out my ballot.
