This blog is dead. ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz!
when will the boys team be appearing in the paper?
when will the boys team be published in the paper?
Sunday's edition.
Not a girl from South Fayette? Have to firmly disagree. Definitely players on the 2nd and 3rd teams not as good as SF's top players.
Looks like you selected girls from teams that showed some success in the playoffs and not necessarily the best players. Who are some of the honorable mentions?
The South Fayette girls certainly had players worthy of being on this list. One problem. No one associated with the team called in any game results to our paper during the 2009-10 season.
As stated before on this blog, the best way to receive coverage is to call in results, win or lose.
There are no honorable metnions.
I'm kind of confused Mike. You say in the boys' POY blog that all players from coverage area are eligible to win these awards. But here, ONLY if they call the scores into you. The coaches coach, the players play and the reporters cover. Just not sure how SF not represented....seems silly to me.
If the South Fayette boys team never called in scores, Mike Lamberti would not be our player of the year.
The SF boys have called in results to the O-R for longer than I've been employed here. For some reason, no one on the South Fayette girls team called in results this year.
They have in the past but we did not get one game this year.
And calling in results is the most vital thing to our coverage. We cannot cover every game for every team. All the game briefs you read in the paper, any newspaper, are from someone calling, faxing or emailing results.
When a team goes an entire season without reporting scores, it's not possible for us to tabulate scoring averages, etc. It's also not fair to all the teams who report results to include players from a team that appears to not want coverage.
I hope this explains it. I don't know what else I can say about it.
