This week, the Varsity Letters is looking for former McGuffey High School multi-sport athlete Garrett Hunter.
One tough hombre, Hunter was a punishing running back/linebacker for the Highlanders only a few years ago. In addition, Hunter was a standout wrestler. His older brother Seth is one of the better basketball players in McGuffey history.
Anyone knowing of Hunter's whereabouts is urged to contact the Varsity Letters.

ReplyDeleteA good sportswriter would know where Garrett Hunter is wrestling. Shows Mike doesn't know or care about wrestling.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, i didn't see it in Mat Matters either though...
ReplyDeleteHe is not a scholarship wrestler there...
During the winter, my job consists primarily of covering high school basketball and Pitt hoops.
ReplyDeleteAt most, I cover one to two wretsling matches per year.
So considering I've covered anywhere from three to four basketball matches in a day, I agree, wrestling is not my area of expertise.
A basketball match is similar to a basketball game right?
ReplyDeleteNo athlete at Army is on athletic scholarship. Athletes, and all students, at the military academies receive appointments. This is how Army, Navy and Air Force can exceed the NCAA maximum on roster limits because none of their players are on athletic scholarships.
